Apple Watch ‘Ring in the New Year’ activity challenge now available

The next Apple Watch Activity Challenge from Apple is officially here. Apple’s annual “Ring in the New Year” challenge runs until the end of the month and encourages Apple Watch users to close all three rings for seven consecutive days.

The Apple Watch Activity Challenges aim to promote the use of the watch for exercise and act as a way for Apple to guide users to take advantage of exercise tracking features. This is the third year of the last four that Apple has held the “Ring in the New Year” challenge.

While most Apple Watch Activity Challenges focus on a specific day with a goal, like completing 5 km, the “Welcome New Year” challenge is a little more arduous: you’ll have to close the table, exercise and move the rings for seven consecutive days.

If you complete the challenge, Apple will reward you with exclusive badges in the Activity app, as well as stickers to use in Messaging and FaceTime.

Start 2021 on the right foot. In January of this year, win this prize by closing all three rings for seven consecutive days.

Conveniently, Apple launched its new Fitness + exercise service in December, offering Apple Watch users a new way to fill their activity rings every day. Learn more about how to start using Fitness + in our comprehensive guide.

Apple is also promoting the January challenge through a video on the Fitness + tab of the Fitness app on the iPhone:

Apple Watch users can find more details about the challenge in the Fitness app on their iPhone. Check below the stickers that you can unlock. Will you participate in the “Ring in the New Year” challenge on your Apple Watch? Let us know in the comments!
