Apple threatens to remove Parler social networking service from App Store

(Reuters) – Apple Inc has threatened to remove Parler’s social networking service from its App Store unless the company changes its content moderation policies, Parler Chief Executive John Matze told Reuters on Friday. .

Parler is a social network to which many supporters of President Donald Trump migrated after being banned from services like Twitter Inc. In a letter from the Apple App Store review team to Parler seen by Reuters, Apple cited use cases for the service to make plans to descend in Washington, DC, with weapons after a mob broke into the US Capitol building on Wednesday.

Apple declined to comment.
