Apple releases macOS Big Sur 11.2.1 with MacBook Pro charging bug fix

Apple released macOS Big Sur 11.2.1 to the general public today. The update brings bugfixes for MacBook Pro users, and comes after the release of macOS Big Sur 11.2 last week.

Apple claims that macOS Big Sur 11.2.1 fixes an issue that prevented some 2016 and 2017 MacBook Pro models from loading:

MacOS Big Sur 11.2.1 addresses an issue that may prevent battery charging on some MacBook Pro 2016 and 2017 models.

Apple does not elaborate on the extent of this problem, but it is noteworthy to see a new macOS build released to the public with a unique bug fix.

MacOS Big Sur 11.2 was released for the first time last week, bringing Bluetooth stability improvements, as well as bug fixes related to external monitors, iCloud and the new ProRAW photos.

You can now update your Mac to the latest version of macOS Big Sur by going to the Software Update menu in the System Preferences application. The update is available to all users of macOS Big Sur and is not limited to the affected MacBook Pro machines.
