Apple releases iOS 14.4.2 and watchOS 7.3.3 to close an active vulnerability

Apple has released two new minor updates for iOS devices and watchOS. The company recommends that all users download iOS 14.4.2 and watchOS 7.3.3 as soon as possible. Like iOS 14.4.1 and macOS 11.2.3 before them, they fix a security hole.

On a support page displayed by MacRumors, Apple says the vulnerability allowed malicious sites to run cross-site scripting. This is an exploit that allows someone to obtain information from other web pages that you have opened on your device. Apple notes that it had at least one report of someone taking advantage of the vulnerability. As always, you can start downloading an update manually on your iPhone by going to the Settings menu, tapping “General” and then “Software update”.
