Apple plans major overhaul of iMac desktop lineup, report says

Sources told Bloomberg that Apple is working on an update to its line of desktop computers iMac, with design elements borrowed from last year’s Pro Display XDR.

Apple is preparing to renew its iMac line desktop computers, according to a report Friday by Bloomberg. The iconic all-in-one computers are supposed to have thinner black panels around their 21.5-inch and 27-inch screens, a reduction of the aluminum “chin” that extends below the screen area and an overall case design , similar to Apple Pro XDR Display Monitor that was released last year.

The new report, which cites anonymous sources, comes as Apple is moving to replace processors manufactured by Intel With your Apple Silicon brand chips across the Mac computer line, which includes the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air rows of laptops.

Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
