Apple Mini-LED iPad Pro launch rumored information

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had previously suggested that Apple would launch a mini-LED version of its 12.9-inch iPad Pro during the first half of 2021, and a new report is now apparently confirming the rumor.

According Mac Rumors – who quoted the Taiwanese media DigiTimes – the American technology giant has hired a company called GIS for a series of mini-LED backlit panels for its 12.9-inch iPad Pro models, which are scheduled to launch during the first quarter of next year.

If the reports are true, the iPad Pro will receive a significant upgrade in terms of screen, as mini-LED technology can provide richer colors while adjusting to darker blacks and brighter whites, creating greater contrast. The use of thousands of individual LEDs will also provide many of the benefits offered by OLED displays without many of their disadvantages, such as reducing burn-in when an image remains static for an extended period of time.

Of course, Apple has yet to make an official announcement about its iPad lineup for next year, so those looking to buy a next generation model should definitely be on the lookout for more updates to come.
