watchOS 7.3 will arrive for all Apple Watch users today. The latest release includes the new collection of Unity watch faces, ECG reaching new countries and bug fixes along with the new Time to Walk feature that officially debuted yesterday.
Apple announced that watchOS 7.3 would be released today, January 26, in its press release on Black History Month initiatives and the new Black Unity Apple Watch Series 6 and Sport Band. It comes after the RC version was released last week. Check the Watch app on your iPhone> General> Software update to see when the version is ready for you (usually around 10 am PT / 1 pm ET).
The latest software update for the Apple Watch includes a new collection of Unity dials inspired by the colors of the Pan-African flag. Apple says it has shapes that “change throughout the day as you move, creating a face that is unique to you.” You can get a better look at the Unity watch faces here.
Along with the new collection of Unity watch faces, Apple is launching a special Apple Watch Series 6 and Black Unity Sport Band. They will be available from February 1st.
Apple is presenting the Black Unity Collection, designed to celebrate and recognize black history and culture. The collection includes a limited edition Apple Watch Series 6, the Black Unity Sport Band and a Unity watch face.
The ECG feature for Apple Watch Series 4 and later is expanding to four new countries with watchOS 7.3. These are Japan, Mayotte, Philippines and Thailand. These countries also receive reports of irregular heart rhythm.
As for the new Time to Walk feature for Apple Fitness + subscribers, which was made available with a server-side update even for watchOS 7.2 users, 7.3 is probably optimized for that.
The update also includes performance improvements and bug fixes for Control Center and Notification Center issues.
