Apple has released a pair of limited edition AirPods Pro for the Year of the Ox, and it is beautiful enough that even those who don’t celebrate Lunar New Year will be inclined to buy it. The duo’s carrying case is engraved with a special ox icon, which is also printed on the box in which the device comes. Apple is only selling the Ox edition headphones in select regions of Asia, which include China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Malaysia.
The good news for anyone who can get it from their Apple Stores is that it seems to cost as much as the normal version without recording. In China, for example, Ox edition headsets cost RMB 1,999 ($ 310), or the same price as their regular counterpart. According to the Chinese Apple Store, there are only 25,400 pairs of the Ox edition on sale – it is not clear whether this is only for China or all regions where it is available – with 11,480 pairs destined for sale in retail stores and 13,920 to be sold online. In addition, each customer can purchase only two pairs, probably to make it more difficult for resellers to store devices.
