Apple introduces new portal to remove activation block on iPhone and iPad – no need to call Apple support, send email or chat with representatives
As mentioned earlier, Apple today launched a new self-service portal that addresses the start of removing the Activation Lock on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. You can simply add the necessary details and request that Apple remove the Activation Lock from your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch directly from the company’s website.
Note that there are some prerequisites that you should be aware of. For example, you must be the owner of the device, the device must not be in Lost Mode or managed by a third party institution such as a company. If you fulfill these points, you can start the process of removing the Activation Lock from your iPhone or iPad.
You will also be asked to enter your valid email address and device serial number. You will be given a form to complete that will allow you to prove ownership of the device. You will need to provide the date of purchase of the device, the location where it was purchased, and the purchase receipt, if you have one. The information provided will be used by Apple or an Apple affiliate to complete the process and remove the Activation Lock from your iPhone or iPad.
After submitting the support request, the company will review the request and update users via email. A support case number will also be generated for reference. One thing to note here is that as soon as Apple removes the Activation Lock from your iPhone or iPad, all of your data will be permanently deleted. From now on, it is advisable to keep a backup of your device before starting the process.
That’s all there is to do, guys. Do you have an iPhone or iPad with activation lock? Do you prefer this method? Let us know in the comments.
