It would not be shocking if the large volume of talented products was directly responsible. Device activations already tend to increase around Christmas, regardless of brand. This demand can easily increase during a pandemic, when people buy tablets to talk to distant friends or smart speakers to play music while working at home.
Still, it is certainly not a good time. This can detract from the initial experience of Apple gadgets for many users, even if that feeling subsides once the activation works properly. Let’s just hope that this problem doesn’t last much longer – and that similar problems don’t affect other manufacturers.
