Rumors that Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL) will hold a special hardware event next month and launch new models of iPad Pro, iPad mini and AirTags were dismissed by an important observer of the technology giant, Apple Insider reported on Sunday.
What happened: Mark Gurman, known for his holes in the Cupertino, Calif.-Based company, poured cold water over rumors that Apple was launching new iPad and AirTags models.

Last April, Apple accidentally confirmed the existence of AirTags, a product similar to Tile. Circular disks can be attached to items, which can be tracked by users.
Why it matters: The rumors surrounding iPads and AirTags were fueled by Twitter posts, which a South Korean publication picked up and published in a report, noted the Apple Insider.
Last month, it was reported that AirTags could be on its way to launch in 2021, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Apple is also looking to make iPads in India in an effort to move away from Chinese manufacturing, according to Reuters.
