- A newly discovered iPhone hack shows how users can quickly rearrange multiple applications on their home screen at once.
- The neat trick makes it much easier for people to set up their iPhone exactly how they want it.
As an avid iPhone user for over a decade, I usually don’t find iPhone tips and tricks I haven’t found before. And, of course, new tricks and workarounds inevitably surface every time Apple introduces a new iOS iteration, but these discoveries are usually discovered slowly but surely during the beta release period.
But every now and then, a new trick will come out of nowhere and surprise me. And today, my friends, it is one of those days. The most recent example comes to us via TikTok from everywhere. The trick in question provides an incredibly efficient way for users to move applications in bulk to a completely different phone screen. The tip is a lifesaver for anyone interested in rearranging the layout of their iPhone or iPad.

Say, for example, that you want to move 8 apps from your home screen to the second app page on your device. Typically, you press an application and select the “Edit home screen” option from the contextual menu. After the apps start swinging, you’ll manually drag each app, one by one, from the home screen to the second app page. Needless to say, this can get tedious quickly, especially if you’re trying to move apps from the home screen to, say, the fifth page of iPhone apps.
This iPhone trick, however, allows you to simultaneously select multiple applications and move them to another page at once. That’s how it works.
To start, press and hold an application icon until the context menu appears. From there, select the “Edit home screen” selection. Once the apps start to swing, press an app you want to move to another page and move it slightly in any direction. Make sure to keep your finger pressed on the app at all times. From there, with your finger still on the screen, grab your other finger and simply tap on all the other apps you want to move to another page. When you do this, you will see each newly touched app be taken to the location of the app’s first icon. It may seem that you are adding all the applications in one folder, but that is not the case.
After selecting all the applications you want to move, drag the collection of application icons to the right or left, depending on the page you want to move them to. When you do this, all selected applications will reappear on the new page.
