Apple AirPods on sale for $ 100, but there’s a catch

My reconditioned AirPods Pro arrived in perfect condition. Your mileage may vary.

Problem: you want Apple AirPods, but you don’t want to pay $ 159 to get them. No problem: just today, and while stocks last, Woot renewed AirPods with charging case (2nd generation) for $ 100.

Wait: refurbished? Yes, that is the problem. In this case, “Grade A refurbished” and “sanitized, cleaned and tested”, therefore, should be almost new in terms of appearance and performance. And they have a 90-day Woot warranty, enough time to make sure everything is working properly.

For comparison, Amazon currently sells the new AirPods for $ 129, right in the middle between the list price and this renovation business. It makes the decision even more difficult, if you ask me.

Woot also renewed AirPods Pro with charging cover for $ 160, which has $ 89 off the regular price. Coincidentally, Best Buy had the same business running yesterday as part of a expired flash sale.

Last year, wondering if they would work well or be used visibly (and disgustingly), I bought a pair of refurbished AirPods Pro from an eBay seller. Price paid: $ 168. End result: they looked new and have served me well ever since.

Your mileage may vary, of course.

Truth be told, I really like AirPods – both varieties. But I also found three excellent AirPods Pro alternatives that cost less, and David Carnoy from CNET compiled a large list of truly wireless headsets with lower prices than AirPods.

My question to you: assuming the condition again, would you be willing to buy refurbished headphones? Or is thinking about it too unpleasant?
