“This feature is not the only love I gave to the badge system,” said Respawn dev RobotHavGunz, causing the new change. “It is an old request. But it will not happen until the 9th season ”.
The developer brought about a change to the badges, but did not disclose many insights.
Some players quickly speculated about what the provocation might be referring to. “Seeing what squad members’ badges are for hovering, maybe?” asked a fan. “More badges displayed on a banner?” another suggested.
Currently, only 3 badges can be displayed on your banner, which players consider to be somewhat limiting. However, in the past, Respawn said that adding more badges can be tricky as it can interfere with some of the banner frames / animations.
Another idea that players had is to sort the badges by category – then ‘account’ badges for things like their level, ‘season’ badges for those specific to the season, damage and death combat badges, and so on.
The developer did not reveal any more details about what the change will be, leaving speculation on hold. It will be a case of waiting and seeing, as Season 9 is still a long way off.
The new season is not scheduled to start until the beginning of May, as the battle for season 8 ends on May 3.
