With season 9 falling on May 4th, let’s take a look at all the planned buffs and nerfs that the Apex Legends developers said are working. All of this is subject to change, but for now, this is what we know.
It is now time – time to look at the next season of Apex Legends and gather all the Legend buffs and nerfs that Respawn has confirmed so far. Some major changes have taken place at the Chaos Theory Collection event, but more are planned.
As the balance team is constantly working on new changes, and sometimes full rework, to help keep the game fresh and healthy, they often update the community on social media and Reddit.
As it can be difficult to keep up with all the comments, we will compile them here. This article will be updated when we hear new information about what the developers are working on.
Buffs of legends and nerfs for season 9 (so far)
It is important to note that these are not all changes that will be in the 9th season patch – only those confirmed or discussed by the developers.
Gibraltar

The Gun Shield of Gibraltar will be nerfed in season 9.
Bad news for Gibraltar’s top players – he will have another nerf in season 9. Respawn really wanted to send these nerfs in update 8.1, but some bugs meant that he had to be postponed.
The nerf for Gibby will be specifically for his weapon shield. Respawn said the damage bleeding is coming, which means that his shield will only take some damage, with some ‘bleeding’ for Gibraltar itself.
In practice, this will mean that your weapon shield will no longer be able to tank an entire shot of Kraber – some of the damage will pass.
Lifeline
- Passive nerf
- Last chandelier

The passive of the lifeline can be difficult to contain if used correctly.
It’s also bad news for the Lifeline network – but not always, as Respawn is working on a nerf and a buff for the doctor.
The main nerf will be for Lifeline’s liabilities, which developers admit is “frustrating” to play against. But, if they are nerfing their liabilities, they will also polish their ultimate.
At this time, Respawn has not confirmed what these changes will be, but said they are testing it now. So, expect a passive nerf, but an Ultimate buff for Lifeline.
Wolf

Loba is among the list of Legends to be adjusted in the 9th Season update.
Loba has been begging for some improvements to his kit since it was released, and hopefully, season 9 will finally arrive.
Respawn confirmed that they have “stuff” for Loba’s bracelet in Season 9. That could mean just a fix for the bugs that prevent her bracelet from actually appearing most of the time, or it could mean a more substantial improvement.
One change that players can expect is a faster animation time, making Loba less vulnerable when entering / exiting teleportation.
Horizon

Horizon’s “big nerf” is planned for season 9, although it may not be ready in time.
Horizon has been cut off constantly after it launched very strongly. Nerfs in almost all subsequent updates, both in their tactics and in their ultimate, were not enough to take her off the top as a legend.
So, Respawn has plans. Although they didn’t say exactly what will be nerfed, Game Designer Daniel Klein said: “We weren’t ready with Horizon’s big nerf, so we dispatched what he had first. A bigger nerf soon, I hope S9, but without guarantees. “
It is possible that Horizon will escape this great nerf at the beginning of season 9, but expect that at some point.
Other legends
The following legends have not yet received the buff, but Respawn said he is looking for some improvements.
ghost
The developers have been trying to figure out the best way to improve Revenant’s position in the meta for a while, but have yet to confirm anything. One potential idea was to change their hitbox – in the same way that they adjusted Wraith and Pathfinder, but in a more positive way.
Cryptographic
There is no guarantee that any buff will come to Crypto in season 9, but the developers said they are looking for some potential improvements.
Nothing is planned now, sorry 🙁 I want to give Crypto a little more love, but he is in a good condition now. I think an average rework of how your drone works is needed at some point, but it may take a while before we get to it

These are all the buffs and nerfs that we know of from the official comments of the developer at the moment. We will update this article with more information as and when it is confirmed, before season 9.
Season 9 is set to start on May 4th, so expect more news about Legend’s changes between now and then.
