Apex Legends Season 8 will feature a new weapon – the 30-30 Repeater. It is a lever action rifle that “punches”, it is unlike any other weapon in the game so far. But, will it be good?
The 7th season of Apex Legends countered the trend by not adding a new weapon. This really didn’t bother anyone, as there was a brand new map to worry about, and the beloved R-99 was returned to the loot.
But, players knew that more weapons were coming, after countless sightings of weapons not launched in dev streams, including this mysterious 30-30 Repeater, which has now been confirmed.
We saw the rifle for the first time in the season 6 development stream, when it fell to the ground for a brief moment.

What is the 30-30 repeater in Apex Legends?
The new weapon of season 8 is actually linked to tradition. The new Legend, Fuse, joins the games of the planet Salvo and brings the 30-30 Repeater with it.
It is described as “Salvo’s most popular weapon” and Fuse is seen posing with it in his promotional image. The 30-30 Repeater is a lever-action rifle that “destroys opposition with blunt shots”.

30-30 Gameplay Repeater
The gameplay of this new weapon was provided by YouTuber Dazs, who started playing season 8 and its new content as a member of EA’s Game Changer network.
As shown in the video below, it appears to have a relatively solid rate of fire, especially when you consider it to be a lever-action rifle. Hopefully, the damage will be able to stay close to the other weapons in the game as well. Only time will tell, of course.
30-30 Repeater ammunition type
It has now been confirmed that the 30-30 Repeater will actually have Heavy Spins, as had been suspected based on previous teasers. The basic clip size is 6 rounds, but this can be increased with extended combs, including the new Level 4 gold extended comb, which offers an automatic reload feature.
- Base ammo: 6 rounds
- Extended mag level 1: 8 rounds
- Level 2 extended mag: 10 rounds
- Level 3 extended mag: 12 rounds
The weapon’s reload speed is very slow, as each cartridge is loaded individually, so a good idea is to reload well before your magazine runs out.
30-30 Repeater Attachments
Although we don’t know the full range of accessories available for 30-30 until season 8 is fully launched, we have a good idea of all the compatible ones since the beginning of the game that is available. The accessories confirmed so far are stocks, all four levels of extended mags and various sights such as 1x, 2x, 3x and 2x-4x. You cannot equip a 4x-8x or 6x oscilloscope.
The location of the meter that indicates your loaded shot (see below) also changes depending on the view you are using; the charge bar will appear on the weapon itself when using an iron sights or 1x scope and will be on the optics itself if you use something more magnified, like the 3x.

30-30 Repeater and loaded shot damage statistics
One of the interesting aspects of the Repeater is that it has a charge shot, which is a round that can be loaded before firing to increase the damage. Here is the damage profile for the weapon with and without this shot loaded:
- Shot without load: 42
- Unloaded firing head: 74
- Full Charge Shot body: 57
- Total charge firing head: 100
Obviously, whether or not you should use Charged Shot will depend on the situation; it’s probably best to avoid it in shootings that require spam in your shots, and only use it when you can allow time intervals between each round.
Overall, Dazs describes the 30-30 as being right between the Longbow and the Scout G7: “The G7 has a faster rate of fire, but less damage, and the Longbow has a slower rate of fire, but more damage. The 30-30 is a perfect weapon for hitting medium and long-range shots. “
30-30 repeater skins
The weapon must be launched with more than 16 common and rare skins, five epic skins and three legendary skins. We’ve already peeked into one of the Legendary camos in the game trailer for Season 8, along with several other Legend skins and weapons.
This is probably one of the legendary skins that will come for the 30-30 Repeater in season 8.
