At a check-in on Reddit in 2019, the developers revealed that the code: leaf error was a back-end problem, not a problem with the player’s game: “the back-end created a match, our servers talked to success with each other, we sent users there, and the player never got a response from the new server. “
Obviously, as the player never got a response from the server, the game fails to connect them to the game. While this error can be extremely frustrating for players, it is encouraging to know that it is probably a back-end problem that is out of the player’s control.
There is nothing a player can do to directly correct the code sheet problem.
How to fix the code sheet error
Although the error is more than likely a back-end problem, there are some basic steps that can correct the problem. On the one hand, while it is incredibly obvious, you should restart your gaming device and wi-fi router just to make sure everything is in order. Don’t forget to open another online game after doing this to ensure that you are just having problems with Apex Legends.
After that, if the problem still persists, this simple workaround appears to be fixing the problem for some console players:
- Launch Apex Legends
- While the game is loading – press and hold the right analog button to access the data center
- Choose a server with low ping, but different from the one you are on
- Join a match
This fix may not work for everyone, but it’s certainly worth a try when you’re desperate to play. Finally, another option is to play with a different account. Some players have found that when switching accounts, the error disappears and the game allows them to enter the games. As a last resort, this may be your best option.
