AP: South Carolina vaccine relief bill addressed to McMaster’s desk

COLOMBIA, SC (AP) – South Carolina lawmakers have agreed to spend up to $ 208 million to support coronavirus vaccination efforts across the state. The Chamber approved on Tuesday a plan to allocate the money to the costs of administering vaccines and tests, personal protective equipment and other expenses associated with the launch of the vaccine. The proposal would also establish a vaccine allocation plan in the four regions of the state. Governor McMaster’s office said it plans to sign the bill. Lawmakers are still considering other ways to improve and change the state’s vaccine plan. This includes a much-debated proposal to vaccinate teachers, although the state still has few vaccine supplies for the elderly.
