The Boston Celtics are currently riding first class on the fight bus so far this NBA season. Who would have predicted that, at this point in the season, they would have less wins than the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and Charlotte Hornets? Nobody is who.
The Celtics have been 8-14 since returning to the court after the break at COVID-19. So far, no player has shot each other or the coaching staff in the media. General manager Danny Ainge has taken responsibility, taking the blame for the team’s struggles, since he was the one who put the squad together.
While it is Ainge’s responsibility to sign and exchange players to make the list, he has little control over what happens on the court. At the moment, the Celtics are not a very good team, despite having two All-Stars, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown on the team.
The set does all the heavy lifting for the team offensively, while Kemba Walker is still working to recover from a knee operation out of season. They are combining for 51 points per game, but the team is not winning. And there is a player in the NBA who believes that the losses will continue to accrue as long as the Celtics are relying on the Brown / Tatum combination.
An anonymous player recently provided a harsh critique from the Boston duo.
It is a pity that the player did not attach his name to this quote. However, this is a strong criticism from one of his colleagues. Just by looking at the number of assistants, they could probably do a little more to involve their teammates.
Without your main assistant, Marcus Smart, you would expect one of the pillars of the young franchise to come forward and adjust its game, but they still haven’t. The evidence is in the loss and gain column.

For the Celtics to take their game to the next level, one from Jaylen Brown or Jayson Tatum needs to start expanding their game. Although it was an anonymous quote, NBA players have forgotten basketball more than most people will ever learn in their lives.
This assessment is not baseless and it may be time for the young Celtics duo to look in the mirror and make some changes to help the team start winning some games.
