Annie Murphy as sitcom wife who’s crazy as hell – deadline

“I wrote it before #MeToo,” said Valerie Armstrong of her upcoming genre-defying AMC comedy series and glass ceiling Kevin can f ** k today at TCA.

The series, which debuts this summer on AMC and AMC +, stars Schitt’s Creek Emmy-winning supporting actress Annie Murphy as a sitcom wife, who in between being the center of her husband’s jokes, loses her temper and seems to get out of the monotony of her life; the series alternating its reality between one and several cameras.

Eric Petersen plays her husband Kevin McRoberts and Mary Hollis Inboden is her best friend Patty O’Connor, while Alex Bonifer (Superstore) plays Patty’s husband / Kevin’s best friend.

“We never need to hit anyone on the head with a message. We are asking you to reconsider the woman you thought you knew. You knew she was happy and she was fine being the target of the joke all the time, but she is really angry and ready for something else. I want the show to speak for itself in that regard, ”said Armstrong.

“I just hope that women identify with that and we can go beyond the things that are relatable,” said the creator and the EP about how the series hits a hot spot.
