“When I was 14, I did a commercial, I had to get my SAG card and they asked me, ‘Well, how do you want your name to be?'”, She started. “And I thought, ‘Well, it should be my name. My name is Anne Hathaway. ‘ So that seemed like the right choice, but it never occurred to me that for the rest of my life, people will call me Anne. “
“The only person who calls me Anne is my mother, and she only does that when she is really angry with me,” she continued. “Like, really crazy.”
“And then, every time I go out in public and someone calls my name, I think they are going to yell at me,” she joked. “People are like, ‘Anne!’ And I’m like, ‘What? What did I do ?!’ “
She went on to say how co-workers on film sets find “alternative solutions” to her name because “the truth is not comfortable with” calling her Anne.
“It doesn’t fit,” added the “Blocked” star. “I’m an Annie. People call me H, people call me Hath, so feel free, call me anything but Anne.”
The star also spoke about his childhood crush, Leonardo DiCaprio.
“He was on that show for a while … ‘Who’s the boss.’ No, ‘Growing Pains’, “she exclaimed.” I don’t remember, I just remember thinking,’ Hi! Who is he ?!'”
