Anker’s $ 130 Liberty Air 2 Pro ANC shoots hurt Apple AirPods Pro

After more than three years in the real wireless headset business, Anker has established strong control in the low and middle end market with dozens of products popping in the $ 20 to $ 100 range that often outweigh its price . Now it’s ready to take on a more premium segment with its first active noise canceling buttons, the Liberty Air 2 Pro.

The new buttons are in the name and are the result of the union between the existing Soundcore Liberty Air 2 and 2 Pro from Anker, which I analyzed about a year ago and was completely impressed. The format is similar to that of the Air 2, although the case and design are more reminiscent of the 2 Pro. They also inherit the latter’s 11 mm drivers, but with an improved tuning to make the music sound as faithful as possible to the original material. .

Anker is really improving the quality of the audio here, collaborating with Grammy winners and music producers to ensure that the pitch is perfect. If the new buttons sound like the 2 Pro, they must be impressive for the price, and if Anker managed to overcome that, even better. I will be sure to share my thoughts with you once, when I get my hands on them.

Like its predecessors, the Air 2 Pro has USB-C and Qi charging, Bluetooth 5.0, customizable controls and several extra features provided by the Soundcore app (equalizer, sound customization after a hearing test, etc …). However, they go further with active noise cancellation and transparency. For ANC, you can choose between modes of transport (for planes, trains, buses), outdoor (broader bandwidth ANC to block street noise) and indoor modes (for offices and cafes). As for transparency, you can choose to allow all noise when exercising outdoors and need to be aware of everything around you, or just prioritize nearby vocals to hear PA announcements.

The new Liberty Air 2 Pro is expected to be available today in the four colors shown above for $ 130 in the US, £ 130 in the UK, € 130 in Europe and CAD $ 170 in Canada. You can buy them on Amazon, BestBuy or Soundcore.com.
