Anji Mito gameplay trailer released for Guilty Gear Strive

The abs are back in town

It’s time to play the new year and with it comes Anji Mito’s birthday on January 1st, which, of course, makes this the perfect time to celebrate the world of Guilty Gear a little.

Arc System Works certainly agreed, considering that they have now released Anji’s gameplay trailer, as he will appear in Guilty Gear Strive with all the abs and fans you would expect from these festivities.

First appearing 20 years ago with the release of GGX, Mito fights using his Zessen fans and traditional Japanese dance moves that seem to be making a comeback on Strive.

As one of the few Japanese left in the world, Anji is a man wanted both for escaping the colonies in which they were placed and for stealing Zessen, who happens to be one of the sacred treasures like the swords of Sol and Ky.

Those who recently returned to play Accent Core will likely notice a complete overhaul of Anji’s animations, which is not surprising, considering this is his first time fighting in the three-dimensional realm.

Most of his attacks appear to be intact, however, as we can see his Fuujin special several times, although we only see what appears to be in follow up for him now.

A noticeably absent move at the moment are his Kai stomps, which provided him with tons of pressure and scenarios of confusion, so it would be a shame if he didn’t return to Strive.

Anji also obviously maintains his butterfly projectile and overall aesthetics, because he wouldn’t really be him without Guard Point’s counter mechanics, which is also sometimes seen.

Guilty Gear Strive is scheduled for worldwide release on April 9, 2021 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC, although players may have access a few days before pre-ordering the Deluxe / Ultimate Edition.

Although there is no provocation / revelation of the character regarding the identity of the last member of the Strive list, ArcSys confirms at the end that the next announcement will be made in February 2021. You can check out the new trailer below.
