Animal Crossing wins two BAFTA awards – Best “Game Beyond Entertainment” and Best Multiplayer Title

The 2021 Bafta Game Awards has just taken place, celebrating the best games of the past year and the talent behind them.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons ended up winning two awards in the night – best “game beyond entertainment” and best “multiplayer” title. Some of its competitors in these categories included The Last of Us Part II, Dreams, Fall Guys, Tsushima’s Ghost and Sackboy: a great adventure.

Hades was the star of the show, winning a total of five awards at night – including Artistic Achievement, Best Game, Game Design and Narrative. Artist Logan Cunningham de Hade won his first BAFTA for best supporting actor.

Although indie success has won five games, The Last of Us Part II took the Game of the Year 2020 award. Notably, it was the only prize to be voted on by the public. You can watch a full recap of the show below:
