When Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from husband Brad Pitt, it was reported that Pitt allegedly became violent while on a private plane and had a fight with the couple’s eldest son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt. Since then, Maddox’s relationship with her father has shifted from tense to nonexistent, as her siblings have also largely remained at her mother’s side. And now Maddox would have taken another step to distance himself from Pitt: he hopes to change his surname.
“Maddox has already testified as [an] adult in the ongoing custody dispute and it was not very flattering for Brad, ”a source told Us Weekly. They added: “He does not use Pitt as his last name in documents that are not legal and instead uses Jolie. Maddox wants to legally change her surname to Jolie, which Angelina said she does not support. “

According to the vehicle, Jolie filed new court documents on March 12 that accused Pitt of domestic violence. In archived paperwork, the Maleficent star further claims that she and the couple’s children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne – are willing to offer “evidence and authority in support” of their allegations against Pitt.
Despite this, a US Weekly source close to Pitt suggested that Jolie’s claims are simply an attempt to prolong the divorce process with her ex. “In the past four and a half years, several statements made by Angelina have been reviewed and not substantiated,” said the source. “Children have been used by Angelina to hurt Brad before and this is more of that kind of behavior. This leaking of documents by his fourth or fifth group of lawyers hurt Brad. “
