The status of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be the subject of great attention this week and Chiefs’ head coach Andy Reid made the first update after Sunday’s 22-17 victory over the Browns.

Mahomes left the game in the third quarter after suffering a concussion in a move. Mahomes looked stunned while being helped after the move and was discarded shortly after.

Reid said Mahomes was feeling well after the game and that the team would see how things were on Monday.

“He was hit in the back of the head and it kind of took his breath away. . . he’s doing great now, which is very positive, he approved all the deals he needed, so we’ll see what happens from here, ”said Reid, via Terez Paylor of Yahoo Sports.

Mahomes will have to proceed with the concussion protocol in order to be released for the AFC Championship Game and there is no prediction at this point whether this will happen.
