Andy Cohen says ‘The Talk’ hiatus in relation to Sharon Osbourne’s comments was a bad move: ‘Talk it out’

Andy Cohen talked about the controversy surrounding Sharon Osbourne that led to the CBS program “The Talk” on a hiatus for a week.

The show extended its hiatus on Wednesday, when a heated conversation took place between Osbourne and co-host Sheryl Underwood, after the former host defended her friend Piers Morgan when he beat Meghan Markle for her revealing interview to Oprah Winfrey. Morgan ended up quitting his job on the “Good Morning Britain” program after facing a negative reaction for saying he does not believe the Duchess of Sussex’s claims.

Speaking on the Australian radio show “The Kyle and Jackie The Show”, Cohen revealed that he does not believe the hiatus was necessary, arguing that the best course of action that CBS could have taken would be to let Osbourne air again the next day and discuss the situation with your co-hosts.

“In my mind, what they should have done with the Sharon Osbourne thing is to go back, get back on the horse the next day and talk in the air,” said the host of “Watch What Happens Live”. “You know, keep talking. I mean, now we’re investigating and investigating what happened … it’s like, just keep talking!”

“They can’t come back from this right now,” she concluded.

Osbourne herself questioned whether or not she plans to return to the show after the hiatus.

During the March 10 episode, Ozzy Osbourne’s wife Osbourne explained that, although she disagrees with Morgan’s opinion, she supported her voice.

Co-host Sheryl Underwood replied, “While you’re next to your friend, it looks like you’re giving validation or a safe haven to something he said is racist.”

“He doesn’t want to understand how Meghan was treated as racism and then says … ‘I don’t see it as racist – I don’t believe what she’s going through’ – it’s that white right, privilege that makes him racist with himself,” continued Underwood. “So, if you’re saying ‘I’m with you’, how do you address people who say that you are against racism?

Osbourne then asked, “So, if I like Piers and he’s seen as a racist, am I a racist? Is that what you’re saying?”
