An Arima man is expected to appear virtually before an Arima Magistrate today, accused of the murder of Andrea Bharatt, sometime between January 29 and February 4.
Negus George, 24, of Gooding Trace, Malabar, Arima, was charged after advice received from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Roger Gaspard.
Gaspard also advised George’s wife, Giselle Hobson, 37, of the same address, to be accused of receiving stolen goods.
Andrea, 23, an official at the Arima Magistrates’ Court in Arima Old Road, D’Abadie, was last seen in a taxi in Arima on 29 January. Her family filed a kidnapping report. She was never seen alive again.
His decomposing body was found on a precipice in the Aripo Hills on February 4.
The investigations were overseen by ASP Douglas and Insp. Hosein, of the Homicide Investigations Department, Region 2, while George and Hobson, were accused by PC Israel Emmanuel, of the Arima Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
Officials from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Special Operations Response Team, Cyber Crime Unit, Arima Police Station and CID were also involved in the investigations.
