Wrestling Inc. was the first to report that Andrade made an official request for a WWE release on the most recent RAW recordings on March 8. As expected, several details of Andrade’s status in the WWE and immediate future flooded the internet.
PWInsider, a generally trusted source on these matters, independently confirmed the story with several WWE sources. A person close to the situation told PWInsider that Andrade looked ‘absolutely terrible’ last Monday in RAW.

What went wrong for Andrade in WWE?
WWE hired Andrade in 2015 and, from the beginning, the highly rated fighter was expected to be the company’s next big Hispanic star.
The intentions of the promotion to make Andrade a big name became evident when El Idolo was reigned in the NXT Championship.
To WWE credit, the company did a solid job in building the alliance between Andrade and Zelina Vega in the black and gold brand. However, they failed to replicate the spell on the main list.
Andrade was summoned in 2018 along with Zelina Vega, and the pair showed great promise in the early days.
El Idolo won the United States title along the way, and many believed that the former NXT champion was being protected for a breakthrough on the line. The appointment of Paul Heyman as Executive Director of RAW also seemed to be a blessing.
Heyman liked the Mexican Superstar and wanted him to be a top guy from the red brand. Everything was going well until WWE decided to remove the former ECW chief from the position of Executive Director of RAW.
To make matters worse, Vince McMahon did not see much in Andrade. It is also no coincidence that the Superstar was not designed in the WWE Draft 2020.
