Andie MacDowell is proud of her new “silver fox” look.
The “Groundhog Day” actress, 62, recently appeared on “The Drew Barrymore Show” and discussed her new approach to dyeing her hair.
“Obviously I stopped dyeing my hair, I don’t know what’s going to happen in five years, I can dye my hair again, but I’m enjoying it now,” said MacDowell. “What happened was that I wasn’t dyeing my hair, and it was kind of colored here, so you could see my roots.”
“My daughters kept telling me that I looked dull – and the idea that I might look dull – really appealed to me, so I accepted,” continued MacDowell, who is the mother of son Justin, 35, and daughters Rainey, 30, and Margaret, 26. She shares her three children with ex-husband Paul Qualley.

MacDowell added: “I’m enjoying it. I’m salt and pepper. It’s silver. It’s not gray, it’s silver. I’m enjoying it now. And it’s not that I’m getting carried away, don’t think that way.”

The actress then remembered a story of seeing a man with similar hair color in the supermarket, while the two exchanged nods of approval.

“When I did this the first time, I went to the supermarket because we had nowhere to go and I thought I was fine. And I saw a man there, a silver fox … I immediately put my shoulders back and I was like, and me too , you know … We both just looked at each other and I thought, ‘I’m a silver fox.’ So that’s where I am now. “
