Andie MacDowell is making sure her daughter is acting cautiously when it comes to their new relationship.

The 62-year-old actress is ‘keeping an extreme eye on the situation’ as Margaret’s romance with Shia LaBeouf continues to strengthen.

Sources told US Weekly that “Margaret’s loved ones are concerned” about her new boyfriend after his ex-girlfriend, FKA Twigs, filed a lawsuit earlier this month with a series of charges, including sexual assault.

Margaret and Shia were caught in a passionate embrace weeks ago at Los Angeles International Airport, sparking rumors that their adventure is a little more serious.

The show of love came almost a week after FKA Twigs sued her ex for sexual assault, assault and emotional distress after he ‘knowingly transmitted her a sexually transmitted disease’.

“If Shia puts a foot out of line, she will fall on him like a ton of bricks,” said the source about Andie’s intention to protect her daughter.

FKA – whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett – detailed several incidents of abuse during their brief relationship that ended in 2019.

The Transformers star was reportedly speeding in Los Angeles in February 2019, when the couple was returning from a trip to the desert when he took off his seat belt and threatened to crash his car unless she said she loved him.

She also claims that he forced her to sleep naked and that he kept a loaded gun by the bed, and was allegedly woken by him trying to strangle her.

FKA said he never reported LaBeouf to the police because he initially feared it would hurt his career and later because he thought the authorities would not take it seriously.

“If Shia puts a foot out of line, she will fall on him like a ton of bricks,” said the source of Andie’s intention to protect her daughter.

The pair dated for less than a year before ending things in May 2019, with sources saying that at the time the separation was due to their working hours.

LaBeouf’s lawyer, Shawn Holley, told Variety that he was ‘actively seeking the type of meaningful, intensive and long-term inpatient treatment that he desperately needed’.

In a statement to the New York Times when the allegations first emerged, Shia acknowledged his actions.

“I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, just rationalizations,” he wrote by email. ‘I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting those closest to me. I’m ashamed of this story and I’m sorry for those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say. ‘
