A detailed image of the PS5 APU was posted by Twitter user Fritzchens Fritz, revealing some important features about the insides of the console.
The collapse of the PS5 APU reveals that some parts of the Zen 2 FPU are actually missing from the console, with another user noting that there is no Unified Cache for the CPU or Cache Infinity for the GPU. That probably won’t mean much, unless you’re big on technology, but people are already saying that the PS5 isn’t as powerful as people initially thought.

Elsewhere, Twitter user Michael T, a hardware and technology analyst, said the following:
Thanks for sharing, the lack of FPU extensions for Zen 2 are logical. AVX2 will kill performance, heat, frequency anyway and shouldn’t be on the CPU.
Again, as I have said several times, a console has very different needs and cuts are normal. This is NOT a desktop device.

The PS5 was released in the U.S. on November 12, 2020 and in the UK on November 19. The console has sold 4.5 million units worldwide, putting it on a solid start in the next generation format war against the Xbox Series X / S.
Despite this, the console still suffers from a shortage of stock, which does not help money changers who manage to bypass online queues to purchase orders before regular customers.
