“Because I like cows and I found them cute,” said Stanley.
The last year of high school was shocked when he realized he had a winning ticket.
“My family is super excited and happy for me, and they still can’t believe it!” she said.
Jessica Herrera, a spokesperson for the Kansas Lottery, told CNN that “it is rare for a player to win the top prize on the first lottery ticket he purchased”.
Stanley will attend Fort Hays State University in the fall, where she plans to study elementary school.
“I hope it will help me graduate without debt,” she said in the lottery.
She plans to spend the money on college. But, she told CNN, she also wants to do something fun – like taking her friends out for a nice dinner.
