When it comes to female streamers on Twitch, Imane “Pokimane” Anys has long been one of the most popular and recognizable faces on the platform. So much so, in fact, that she was actually the main streamer in the entire Twitch throughout 2020 according to some metrics. However, if a new development for the month of March is any indication of what may be happening in the future, it looks like there may be a new queen on the ever-popular streaming site.
According to new data from Stream Charts, Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa was the best female streamer in March 2021, defeating Pokimane, who finished second. Amouranth accumulated 1.79 million hours of watched content over the month, surpassing Pokimane, which ended up with just under 1.77 million hours. However, Amouranth also transmitted much more than Pokimane throughout the month, which seems to be the main reason why she ended up getting better. Amouranth was broadcast on Twitch for a total of 299 hours in March, while Pokimane was broadcast for just a little over 93 hours.
It remains to be seen whether Amouranth will maintain this streak throughout April, but his channel is definitely one that has grown a lot in recent months. Part of that may be because, compared to many other streamers, Amouranth’s content on Twitch has a little more variety. Whenever you tune in, you can watch it playing video games, dancing, recording ASMR or sleeping. Yes, Amouranth even got into the habit of broadcasting herself sleeping at times, and believe it or not, viewers are still watching through channels by the thousands.
At this point in time, it definitely looks like Pokimane still holds the title of being the most popular female streamer on Twitch, given how strong her ratio of broadcast hours to watched hours is. However, if Amouranth continues to grow its audience throughout 2021 in this way, perhaps she will become the next big streamer on the platform.
