“American Pickers” looking for Colleton leads during SC trip

The television program “The American Pickers” is arriving in South Carolina and the show’s producers are asking Colleton’s antique owners to contact them if they want to participate in the program.

According to Kourtny Myers of Cineflix, the show’s production agency, “American Pickers” is arriving in the state of Palmetto during the month of March. “We are looking for clues across the state, specifically interesting characters with interesting items and lots of them!” she said. “The way we find people and collections for our program is to spread the message so that people know that we are coming to the city and can contact us.”

“The American Pickers” is a series of documentaries that airs on the History Channel. The show’s hosts, Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, look for pieces of American history by combing private collections of antiques, interesting finds, vintage plaques, furniture and more. The show does not go to private stores or flea markets, museums, companies or auction houses.

Myers said the show’s producers and hosts will be especially cautious amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, adding that they will talk about all precautions and follow all South Carolina and CDC guidelines when speaking to the public.

“They are always excited to find unique, sizeable collections and learn the interesting stories behind them,” she said in a written statement.

Anyone interested in participating in the program should call “The American Pickers” at 1-855-OLD-RUST (658-7878) or send an email to AmericanPickers@cineflix.com.
