AMD will announce its next Radeon RX 6000 GPU on March 3

Excited to learn about more GPUs that you probably won’t be able to buy anytime soon? So do we. And luckily, AMD is about to oblige. After having more desktop GPUs on the way in the first half of the year, the company today announced that it will detail its next Radeon RX 6000 series graphics card on March 3 at 11 am ET / 8 am PT.

As things stand today, AMD’s “Big Navi” line consists of three models: the RX 6900 XT, RX 6800 XT and RX 6800, priced at $ 999, $ 649 and $ 579 respectively. According to AMD, it will announce two GPUs at the event, the RX 6700 XT and RX 6700. The first is expected to compete directly with the new ones from NVIDIA, which will hit stores this Thursday.

Whether you can buy them as soon as they go on sale is a difficult question to answer. The new GPUs from AMD and NVIDIA have been notoriously difficult to track thanks to a combination of limited supply and increased demand from cryptocurrency miners. The supply shortage has been so great that NVIDIA recently turned to the almost five-year GTX 1050 Ti just to have something to sell to people.
