Advanced micro devices AMD recently launched the AMD Ryzen PRO 5000 series mobile processors based on its Zen 3 core architecture. The new line of mobile processors Ryzen Pro aims to improve the efficiency of professional laptops in the midst of increasing the hybrid work configuration.
Beginning in the second quarter of 2021, AMD expects a wide availability of business notebooks with AMD technology from HP Inc HPQ and Lenovo and predicts that the number of these notebooks will triple by 2021.
The AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U has 8 cores and 16 threads with 20 MB of cache and offers 15W thermal or TDP design power. According to AMD, the AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U can provide up to 57% more multithreaded performance and 23% better performance for home and office productivity than its competitors.

The AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 5650U has 6 cores and 12 threads with 19 MB of cache, while the AMD Ryzen 3 PRO 5450U has 4 cores and 8 threads with 10 MB of cache.
AMD Ryzen PRO 5000 series mobile processors feature AMD PRO technologies, including AMD PRO Security, AMD PRO Manageability and AMD PRO business ready.
AMD Ryzen PRO processors are also integrated with AMD Memory Guard, which helps protect data and identity credentials. In addition, AMD Shadow Stack offers hardware-enabled protection against malware threats.
The evolution of the workspace bodes well for AMD
The rapid proliferation of cutting-edge cloud computing, increased demand for thinner laptops and faster processing are expected to boost demand for the new Ryzen PRO 5000 series processors.
In addition, remote work, staying at home and online learning spurred demand for PCs, laptops and notebooks. The increase in video game activity worldwide in the midst of the pandemic is also contributing to the increased demand for gaming notebooks.
In addition, the continued momentum seen in PC shipments due to work at home bodes well for the adoption of AMD processors that are designed to serve commercial purposes.

The laptop market worldwide is expected to witness a 0.5% CAGR between 2021 and 2026, according to a Specialized Market Research report. It reached almost $ 103 billion in value in 2020, added by the report.
These robust features are expected to boost acceptance of AMD’s new processors and, in turn, increase the company’s revenue in the coming days.
However, increased competition in the semiconductor space from companies such as NVIDIA NVDA and Intel INTC remains a concern.
Recently, Intel globally launched its 11th generation Intel Core S-series desktop processors (dubbed Rocket Lake-S) to increase the speed and performance of video games.
