AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT rumors to easily crush GeForce RTX 3060, Equal RTX 3060 Ti

AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series graphics card
AMD kept the roadmap by launching a new generation of video cards, focusing first on the most sophisticated models. So, from the beginning, we had the Radeon RX 6900 XT ($ 999 MSRP), Radeon RX 6800 XT ($ 649 MSRP) and Radeon RX 6800 ($ 579 MSRP). The real money, however, is obtained by selling more affordable options. To that end, AMD may be in very good shape if the latest rumors about its next Radeon RX 6700 XT are confirmed.
As it stands, AMD will face a robust lineup from rival NVIDIA, which has so far released its GeForce RTX 3090 ($ 1,499), GeForce RTX 3080 ($ 699 MSRP), GeForce RTX 3070 ($ 499), GeForce RTX 3060 Ti ($ 399 MSRP) and GeForce RTX 3060 ($ 329 MSRP). It has five Ampere-based cards in total, versus three AMD cards based on RDNA 2. In addition, the cheapest NVIDIA Ampère card is $ 250 less than AMD’s cheapest Ampère card.
You can bet that, over time, AMD will develop its current generation line with more SKUs from the Radeon RX 6000 series. One is the aforementioned Radeon RX 6700 XT, which AMD chose not to reveal during its presentation at CES 2020 , despite rumors that it could do so (alongside a non-XT variant). Although he did not speak at the event, he will undoubtedly do so at some point.
Should NVIDIA care? Maybe so, if YouTuber “Moore’s law is dead” is right about the money. In a recent video posted on YouTube, he says that AMD is positioned to dominate the mid-range GPU market with the Radeon RX 6700 XT, if the company can supply enough cards. This point should not be overlooked, as it was supposedly the reason why AMD did not reveal the card at CES.

The Radeon RX 6700 XT is based on Navi 22, with 40 computing units (CUs) running at 2.35-2.5 GHz and 12 GB of GDDR6 (16 Gbps) memory on a 192-bit bus. It also features 96 MB of Infinity Cache.

Specifications are one thing, but what about performance? This is where things are interesting. According to what YouTuber has heard from unspecified sources, the Radeon RX 6700 XT should, at the very least, trade blows with the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, if not beat it completely. And that means it will end up crushing the normal GeForce RTX 3060, if the information is true.

One thing that could work for AMD is that expansion card partners (AIB) are supposed to use cooling solutions that are on par with what is used for GeForce RTX 3070 graphics cards. In that case, this should help Radeon RX 6700 XT reaching tall clocks.

Better yet, they say the yields are excellent. Who knows if the offer will meet the demand, but having great yields certainly helps in this regard. As for the price, it is expected to be in line with the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. We will have to wait and see, but based on current rumors, the Radeon RX 6700 XT may end up being a very popular card.
