AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT for two variants based on the Navi 22 GPU

There are rumors that AMD will launch its next Radeon RX 6700 XT in various flavors based on the GPU Navi 22. This along with rumors of details of the Radeon RX 6700 were posted by Coreteks who highlights what we’ve heard so far.

Will AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT get two variants based on the GPU Navi 22 – RX 6700 will be released in April?

The details are mainly related to the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT while little information for the Radeon RX 6700, RX 6900 XTX and RX 6950 XT is also provided (as a mere speculation). Coreteks says AMD is working on two variants of the Radeon RX 6700 XT video card. Both feature the Navi 22 GPU, but there is a variation in the way each GPU is configured. It looks like it’s all about revenue and AMD doesn’t want to waste any GPU chips, so they may be following this path.

AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB ‘RDNA 2’ Graphics Card Released March 18

The AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT top compartment variant will feature a 230W TGP and will be part of several custom designs with factory overclocks and premium cooling. The second layer piece will feature a 189W TGP and will only be used for reference projects. The card’s clock speeds are rated at around 2.5 – 2.6 GHz, which is surprisingly high, but not unexpected, since we saw similar numbers in previous leaks. Both cards will have 12 GB of GDDR6 memory and will be released between March 15th and 19th, although recent rumors have highlighted a March 18th launch date for Navi 22 GPUs.

The website claims that AMD will use the base price of the second-tier part as an initial MSRP, but the high-end variant of the Radeon RX 6700 XT will cost a huge premium over the reference model. The site predicts a 20-25% performance increase over the Radeon RX 5700 XT for the RX 6700 XT, offering a large memory size.

On the other hand, we have the Radeon RX 6700 which will feature a reduced Navi 22 GPU SKU that will be a different variant from the XT / XTX models used in the RX 6700 XT. The Radeon RX 6700 will feature 6 GB of GDDR6 memory (also mentioned in recent leaks), which will have a frequency of 16 Gbps and is rumored to be launched in April.
