A Tennessee teenager who has been missing for a year and a half may currently be in Florida with her father, officials said this week.
Daphne Westbrook, 17, was last seen on a weekend trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee, in October 2019 with her father without custody, John Westbrook, 42.
John Westbrook was charged with custody interference in June last year, and a judge indicted him for aggravated kidnapping last month.

John Westbrook has known contacts in Colorado, New Mexico, California and Washington, but was recently seen with his daughter in an orange Volkswagen Beetle 1971 in the Florida panhandle, according to FOX 13.
“Please know that no one is angry. You are so loved,” Daphne’s mother told the local media in a message to her daughter. “It is not your fault that you are in this situation. This is not her fault. I need her to be well. I need this. I will do everything I can to make sure she is.”
John Westbrook is an IT expert who makes money doing computer security work for small businesses, according to Hamilton County District Attorney Neil Pinkston.
He is also a specialist in blockchain and bitcoin technology, making it difficult for investigators to trace his whereabouts, according to the prosecutor.
Pinkston told the WRCB that Daphne is “constantly receiving drugs and alcohol that keep her in an altered state”.
