Amber alert canceled, missing Carrollton girl found safe after mother’s death, father in custody – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

A missing 10-year-old girl, whose mother was found dead on Wednesday morning, was found safe and her father is in custody.

Carrollton police said just before 11 am that Rosemary Lee Singer had been located with police help in Red Oak and Dallas.

The child’s father, Ronald Lee Singer, 35, was taken into custody and is expected to be charged with murder for the death of the girl’s mother, his ex-wife.

Police said Maria Romero Ramos, 45, was found dead in her apartment by her roommate at about 1 am on Wednesday, in the 1900 block of East Hebron Parkway. The death is being investigated as a murder, police said.

A statewide Amber Alert was issued on Wednesday morning to the woman’s son after police learned that his mother was killed and she was picked up at a friend’s home by his biological father.

Police say Singer has links to the Hillsboro area, but there is no definitive information on where he may be.

Anyone who sees the vehicle or has information about the parent’s and child’s whereabouts should call 911 or 972-466-3333.
