A missing 10-year-old girl who was the target of an Amber Alert on Wednesday morning after her mother was found dead was found to be safe and her father is in police custody.
Carrollton police said shortly before 11 am that Rosemary Lee Singer was located with the help of police in Red Oak and Dallas and that her father, Ronald Lee Singer, 35, was taken into custody and should be charged with murder for the death of his mother, his ex-wife.
Police said Maria Romero Ramos, 45, was found dead in her apartment by her roommate at about 1 am on Wednesday, in the 1900 block of East Hebron Parkway.
The police did not release further details about his death, but said it was being investigated as a murder.
A statewide Amber Alert was issued on Wednesday morning to the woman’s son after police learned that his mother was killed and that she had been picked up at a friend’s home by his biological father.
