Amazon offers resources for new Biden government vaccination efforts

Amazon is the second largest employer in the United States, with more than 800,000 employees and has a huge transportation and logistics network with reach across the United States. In a letter addressed directly to newly appointed President Joe Biden, Amazon offers its resources to help Biden’s goal of vaccinating 100 million Americans during his first 100 days in office.

In addition, we are prepared to leverage our operations, information technology and communication and experience capabilities to assist your administration’s vaccination efforts. Our scale allows us to make a significant impact immediately in the fight against COVID-19, and we are ready to assist you in that effort.

Amazon has a licensed third-party healthcare provider that is ready to administer vaccines to its 800,000 essential employees as they become available. This includes employees at Amazon distribution centers, AWS data centers and employees at Whole Foods Market.

Vaccinating all Amazon employees would help nearly 1% of Biden’s ultimate goal of 100 million Americans, but the company’s huge scale of operation and logistics could aid the efforts of the United States government to physically obtain vaccines in all states United.

Currently, the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are in very limited supply. Worldwide, it is estimated that 54.3 million doses of the vaccine have already been administered, 17.2 million of them in the United States. In the last weekdays, an average of 912,497 shots were administered. All of these numbers are from January 20 according to Bloomberg. You can check the vaccine’s progress here.
