Amazon Fire TV adds more live channels, including IMDb TV and Plex

Amazon reinforced Fire TV’s live TV service line with a few more options. IMDb TV, XUMO and Amazon’s news app are now available and Plex’s live TV service will be integrated with live features soon. All of these apps are free services with ads. You will now see channels and other content from these apps on the Live tab, On Row lines and the Universal Channel Guide.

Meanwhile, Alexa is now a little more useful for live TV. You can ask the voice assistant to play specific programs instead of asking you to switch to a different channel. You can say “Alexa, touch Good Morning America”Or“ Alexa, play the Seahawks game ”and Fire TV must change the channel for that program or game.

Elsewhere, live TV shows now work with the App Peek feature in the updated Fire TV interface. When you hover over an app, you can see what’s playing to help you decide if you want to watch it.
