Amazon bringing ‘hundreds of jobs’ to Triangle, to open 2 more ‘delivery stations’

RALEIGH – Amazon will add “hundreds of jobs” to each of the two new delivery stations to open later this year.

The company signed lease agreements for new centers – which are aimed at handling last-mile services and “speeding up” deliveries – in Raleigh and Garner.

Jobs, when available, will start at $ 15, said Amazon Logistics, the group responsible for the new centers.

“We are excited to continue to invest in the state of North Carolina with two new delivery stations that will provide efficient delivery for customers and create hundreds of job opportunities for Triangle’s talented workforce. These new delivery stations represent Amazon’s unwavering commitment to safety, technological innovations and skilled staff who are obsessed with delivering to our customers, ”said Ashley Lansdale, a spokeswoman for Amazon.

The additions expand the footprint of the Amazon Triangle, which already includes a large distribution center in Garner and other delivery stations in Durham and Cary.

The new locations are:

  • 1201 N Greenfield Parkway, Garner
  • 4524 New Bern, Raleigh

See how Amazon defines new operations:

“Delivery stations drive the last mile of Amazon’s order fulfillment process. The packages are transported to delivery stations at Amazon’s distribution and distribution centers and then loaded onto vehicles for delivery to customers. There are currently three Amazon delivery stations in operation in the Triangle and eight in the state of North Carolina. Amazon has more than 250 delivery stations in the USA. “

These expansions follow Amazon’s recent agreement with Wake Tech to provide robotics training for workers at the Garner warehouse.

“We are delighted to hear that Amazon is expanding in Garner. They have already created 3,000 new jobs at the company’s distribution center on Jones Sausage Road. This new facility will create hundreds of additional job opportunities – and that’s great news for Garner. ”Said Garner Mayor Ken Marshburn in the ad.

Raleigh Mayoer MaryAnn Baldwin added: “Amazon’s announcement is yet another example of the diversity of the business community finding success in the region. It is a pleasure to congratulate Amazon for this milestone and expansion. The investment will create hundreds of new full-time opportunities for Amazon employees, adding to our city’s pandemic recovery efforts. “
