The Saints’ running back, Alvin Kamara, tested positive for COVID-19.
Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports that Kamara did not practice today and goes on the reserve list for COVID-19, but apparently there is still hope that the test was a false positive.
Kamara showed no symptoms, feels well and is waiting for a new test that can confirm that he has COVID-19 or discover that the initial test was a false positive.
If Kamara is right, he won’t be available for the end of Sunday’s season and possibly for the Saints’ first playoff game as well. The Saints won the NFC South and are still in contention for a playoff farewell in the first round.
Without Kamara, Santos would turn to back running Latavius Murray, who has a history of playing well in relief Kamara.
Kamara is coming off a Christmas day when he tied the all-time record in the NFL by scoring six touchdowns in one game.
