Alvin Kamara on possible penalty for football boots: The Grinch always tries to steal Christmas

Saints’ running back, Alvin Kamara, was generating a buzz on social media well before the first of his six touchdowns on Friday.

Kamara was wearing Christmas-themed cleats – one red and the other green – which drew many admirers as people prepared for the afternoon game against the Vikings. He had plenty of time to show them off while tying the NFL record for touchdowns in one game and it’s a good bet that the league office noticed the shoes.

Kamara’s shoes did not have the team colors and this has resulted in fines for players in the past. After the 52-33 victory was in the books, Kamara was asked about that possibility.

“If they fine me, I will just call and send it to charity. The Grinch always try to steal Christmas, ”said Kamara, via NOLA.com’s Amie Just.

Kamara also set a career record with 155 running yards, so he could find a fine at a small price to pay for what the shoes helped him take off on Friday.
