Alvin Kamara of Saints ties the all-time record in the NFL with 6 TDs rushing to victory over the Vikings

Have a day, Alvin Kamara.

Kamara, the New Orleans Saints do-it-all running back, racked up 155 running yards, his career record, and tied an NFL record by running six touchdowns to lead the Saints to a 52-33 win over Minnesota Vikings on Friday.

With the victory, the Saints won the fourth consecutive NFC South title.

In possession of the game’s opening ball, Kamara crowned the Saints’ throw with a 40-yard touchdown. He added scoring runs of 1, 5, 6, 7 and 3 yards. His six touchdowns tied Hall of Fame defender Ernie Nevers, who achieved the feat in 1929 for the Chicago Cardinals.

“The offensive line receives the ball for sure, congratulations to them,” said Kamara after the game. “Sean (Payton, the Saints coach) dialed, I did the small part.

“Today was a great day, we scored our first goal, the division title. I will start from there.”

Santos, who improved to 11-4 in the season with the win, never gave a handful in the game and set a record for yards won in a game by a Vikings opponent with a total of 583 yards. Quarterback Drew Brees, who missed four games due to rib and lung injuries, shot for 311 yards in his second game back.

Minnesota (6-9) was eliminated from the playoff contest, while granting the highest score to any Vikings team since 1963.

The Saints will close the 2020 regular season of the NFL with an NFC South clash against the Carolina Panthers. Minnesota will visit Detroit Lions on January 3.
