Along Came Trudy fined thousands for breaches of COVID-19

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Along Came Trudy is facing a huge fine for breaches of COVID-19.

Oregon Occupational Health and Safety issued a $ 9,215 fine, after many weeks of the deal remaining open against state rules.

Several complaints about Along Came Trudy have been made to the agency.

State officials say the fine was issued after an inspection started on Dec. 21, which found two violations. In allowing indoor dining, OSHA said the restaurant deliberately disregarded the ban on indoor dining in areas of extreme risk, such as Lane County. The second violation concerns the failure to ensure that customers inside the restaurant wear a face cover.

OSHA said armed people outside the company threatened regulatory agencies and their employees.

“It is our expectation that employers comply with public health measures that we know are effective in reducing the risks to workers and reducing the spread of the disease. And we were able to address most concerns about COVID-19 and the workplace constructively and without formal inspection visits, ”said Michael Wood, Oregon OSHA administrator. “However, as this case demonstrates, we will continue to carry out enforcement actions where appropriate and particularly where employers deliberately break standards.”

Employers have 30 days to appeal quotes.
