Almost a third of the country received at least one dose of the Covid vaccine

The United States has reached an important milestone in the battle against Covid-19 – more than 100 million Americans have already received at least one dose of the vaccine, the federal government reported Friday.

And nearly 58 million have been fully vaccinated, according to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

A year after the pandemic hit the United States, 101.8 million received their first vaccine from Covid-19, which represents just over 30% of the total US population.

The overwhelming majority of the 157.6 million injections, which is the combined total of the first and second doses administered, went to the people most affected by the deadly virus – elderly people aged 65 and over, the CDC figures showed.

The United States leads the world with 30.7 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 and almost 556,000 deaths, according to the latest figures from NBC News.
